{19th June 2012}
On a sunny June day, we got together with Elizabeth’s Cake Emporium, Kosibah, Cedar Events and other wedding vendors at the beautiful Quendon Hall for this bridal shoot which really embraces elements of African art, vintage fabrics, jewellery & styling. The phenomenal Kat also featured the shoot today so pop over to Rock n Roll Bride to see a different set from it.
Elizabeth came up with the concept for the shoot whilst seeking inspiration for distinctive cake designs; she’d noticed a recurring theme of tribal and ethnic-inspired fabrics and accessories on recent catwalks shows for major fashion labels.
She said: “This shoot is a contemporary interpretation of Africa’s diverse and unique cultural heritage as well as an homage to the modern day African princess. We used colours ranging from dramatic black and white, metallic gold to shades of coral. We included traditional African fabrics, jewellery and styling to create the most alluring images that are indeed ‘Out of Africa’.”
Elizabeth’s blog post about this shoot explains the vintage aspects of the styling and the significance of the items used so please visit to read more.
