Our Vintage Story II

{4th September 2010}

This is the second post about our Vintage Wedding Shoot.

Sophia Louise was one of the models who actually joined us on the day; Sarune was the second model. They’re both featured in this post along with Paul White & Cherilyn Leeson, both of whom had initially joined us as part of the inventory team. However, due to AWOL nature of 3 of the other confirmed models, Paul, Lynsey & Cherilyn stepped in :-)! As you will see, they really got into the spirit of the event and had so much fun doing so. Lynsey will be featured in a subsequent post.

Juliet Onyeka made Sarune & Sophia Louise up as Cherilyn was due to attend her friend’s wedding on the same day as a guest, she had already done her own make-up :-)! Cherilyn & I first met when she designed and handmade my wedding dress, Lace bolero & birdcage veil last year as she’s a highly talented dressmaker. Here’s a photo of them, which was taken by Alasdair McIntosh.

Our base for getting ready and indeed, getting some more dresses and props for the shoot was the fabulously detailed Umi & Co Vintage at the Beehive; our massive thanks go to Deborah at Umi & Co Vintage for this and your patience as the no-show of the othe MUA meant that we took longer to get the models ready, longer than we’d anticipated.

Sophia Louise wore a 1950s Cream Lace vintage strapless with scoop neckline and ballerina length tulle skirt with matching jacket, Magpie Vintage feather headpiece with Pearl and Diamante embellishment, Magpie Vintage Cluster Bracelet with Pearls, which were loaned by Luella’s Boudoir & Sarune’s Silver Shoes.

Paul had not intended to be photographed at all but as he’s so confident and happy in himself, he was so relaxed and his natural stance is what most people would call a pose! As you can imagine, we noticed this at certain times and whilst we waited for other photographers for take their photos of the other models, we swung round to take quick shots of Paul. Opportunistic, us? Never! hehe…

Cherilyn wore a One-shouldered Grecian Dress from Kosibah Creations, a handmade Fascinators  by Jemima Williams of Little Red Riding Hood & her own shoes.
Sarune wore a Joseph Magnin Swinging 60s dress from Luella’s Boudoir, a handmade Fascinators  by Jemima Williams of Little Red Riding Hood & her own cream leather shoes.

Whilst we were shooting, a gentleman drove by in this stunning red Mercedes and I joked that someone should go and ask him if we could use his car for the shoot. He agreed to whomever went to ask him :-)! Thanks Derek for your spontaneous generosity.

I’ll post more images from the shoot very soon :-)! In the meantime, don’t be shy – go ahead and post your thoughts about these hehe.
